Luke and Leah have become a family of three. Audrey Noa Page was born at 7:35 am on Friday, 18th May, weighing in at 2.9kg.

The Nutcracker

We went to The Nutcracker ballet in Adelaide, so after dinner on Peter’s birthday Isaac and Nathan organised this performance. They had spent the day preparing the props and reminding us of our parts.

Luke Page - Uncle Drosselmeyer

Uncle Drosselmeyer comes to the party and gives Clara the Nutcracker doll.

At midnight the toys around the tree come to life and dance.

Isaac - Nutcracker, Nathan - soldier, Peter - Mouse King

The Nutcracker leads the soldiers in a battle with the mouse army.

The death scene

The Mouse King and the Nutcracker battle but the Mouse King is too strong. The Mouse King is then killed when Clara throws her shoe.

The Nutcracker turns into a prince and takes Clara to the Land of Snow where they watch the dance of the snowflakes.

The final dance

He then takes her to the Land of Sweets where they eat food and watch dances from different countries.
When Clara wakes up all the toys are around the Christmas tree.

Colleen and Dylan have become a family of three. Josiah Hobbes Zaplatynskyj was born at 10:52 pm on Tuesday, 25th October, weighing in at 3.5kg.

Chinese like to have their photos taken with foreigners ...

and particularly if the foreigner is a baby.

Seems they like to give the victory sign so much that even Robyn is doing it.

They like to sneak photos of foreigners.

They train them young to flash the victory sign at the camera.

Shaolin Temple

Two hours of bus trip took us to the Shaolin Temple.

After another two hours in a bus we returned to the train station. Our guide/translator for the day was Doreen.

Off to an early start this morning and we quickly observe some differences between Xi’an and Zhengzhou. In Zhengzhou there are wide footpaths that are used by the many forms of bike transport, something we didn’t see in Xi’an.
